Edgardo Zavala, M.D is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and held certification with the American Board of Vascular Medicine, the American Board of Echocardiography and the American Board of Phlebology. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and previous member of the American Society of Liposuction Surgery and the American college of Phlebology. He is a previous Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and of the the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention. He has extensive training not only in tumescent Liposuction but also in Laser and Ultrasound assisted Liposuction using the latest technologies to accomplish the best esthetic outcomes in his patients. Added to his extensive experience in cosmetic surgery his patients benefit of his comprehensive knowledge in Internal Medicine, Surgery and Cardiology decreasing the usual risks for any kind of surgical intervention.
Dr. Zavala studied at the National Autonomous University in Mexico City, receiving his Medical Degree, Suma Cum Laude, in 1977. He completed specialization in General Surgery and Internal Medicine and then a Fellowship in Cardiology and another Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the internationally renowned National Institute of Cardiology in Mexico City. He received recognition as best resident in both internal medicine/general surgery and cardiology. He was recognized as one of the most respected and successful cardiologists in Mexico but due to family issues he moved to the USA where he completed a second Internal Medicine Residency at Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix AZ, to fulfill U.S. requirements. He then became chief of Cardiology at both Maricopa Medical Center and Phoenix Memorial Hospital. After many years of intensive work in cardiology, concerned with the impossibility to provide optimal medical care in the current managed care environment in this country he pursued and completed a fellowship in Cosmetic Surgery at Baja Plastic Surgery & Med Spa Center from 2003 to 2007 with extensive training in Liposuction, diverse Laser treatments and traditional cosmetic surgery. He opened CIAO BELLA COSMETIC SURGERY @ VEIN CLINIC in Chandler Arizona in December 2007.
