How Does Lip Enhancement Work?
Non-surgical lip enhancement is achieved by using dermal fillers such as Juvederm®, Perlane®, or Restylane® to add volume to the upper and lower lips. The fillers are made from hyaluronic acid gels, which are safe and provide a natural-looking result. During your initial consultation, the doctor will discuss the lip shape and contour that you desire in order to create a lip enhancement that looks natural and appropriate for your age and desired look.
What to Expect During and After the Procedure:
Lip augmentation is performed as an in-office procedure and can be completed during your lunch hour. After your lips are numbed with a local anesthetic, the dermal filler is injected into the lips using a blunt cannula. The fillers add vertical height to the lips without making them protrude or appear “ducky.” Our doctors use the precise amount of filler needed to create full, youthful-looking lips that still appear natural and in proportion with the rest of your features. There is virtually no downtime with non-surgical lip enhancement, and your lips will be noticeably fuller immediately after the procedure. Any discomfort following the procedure can normally be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. There may be some minor swelling or bruising, but this typically resolves within a couple of days.
