How to Reduce Wrinkles the Easy Way

What is Laser Resurfacing?
Laser resurfacing is an easy, and safe, way to eliminate the amount of wrinkles and blemishes on your skin. Laser surfacing also goes by the names of lasabrasion, laser vaporization, or laser peel. During this process, there are short, and specifically directed rays of light that are pointed at skin that has blemishes or wrinkles. If you find that you suffer from lines on your face, wrinkles, scars from acne, or skin that did not sit well after another cosmetic procedure, this may be the right process for you. If there is still a large amount of acne on your face, or your skin is a darker complexion, this process may not be very effective. Laser resurfacing also does not work well with stretch marks. If you are not sure whether the process is right for you, set up an appointment with your doctor to make sure it will be safe and effective.

CO2 and Erbium Laser Resurfacing
There are two different types of lasers that are used in the process. The lasers are carbon dioxide and erbium. Both of the lasers get rid of any cells that are damaged at the surface-level.

CO2
CO2 is a very well known type of laser resurfacing. It has been used in the past to take care of scars, wrinkles, warts, and oil glands that are too large. There is a newer version of this type of resurfacing that uses a very short laser or light beams that move continuously. These beams are lit in a certain pattern that is used to take care of thin layers at the surface level. This process normally results in little, to no, damage from the heat. There is normally a two-week recovery process predicted for patients of this process.

Erbium
Erbium resurfacing was specifically created to get rid of blemishes that are surface level and deep lines of the hands, neck, chest, and face. Patients love the erbium process because they normally come out of the process with a minimal amount of burning. The laser used also comes with fewer side effects which makes the recovery time a lot quicker than the CO2 resurfacing. The erbium process also works better for those who have a darker complexion.

What Should I Expect?
Normally, patients leave the same day they receive the procedure. Patients will either be numbed or sedated before the procedure. The resurfacing could take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours. If you are interested in resurfacing be sure to do your research on the process, side effects, and treatment procedures.
