It’s a rare woman who doesn’t have a spot of cellulite anywhere on her body. This unsightly cottage cheese-like flesh regularly appears on the abdomen, the thighs, the love handles, buttocks and other places. Cellulite is toxins and fat trapped under the skin by straps of connective tissue called septae. Septae are supposed to hold fat firmly, but they can loosen and sag due to age and other problems. The result of sagging, fat and toxins is cellulite.
Men can also get cellulite, but they’re much less susceptible to it. That’s because their skin is thicker than women’s, and fluctuations in estrogen and other female hormones contribute to cellulite.

The heat from the laser emulsifies the fat, which makes it easier for the vacuum cannula to suction it out of the body. SmartLipo results in less trauma for the patient because it doesn’t destroy as many blood vessels or other non-fat tissue. There’s also less pain, bruising and risk of infection after the treatment. Another effective treatment for cellulite uses the heat produced by infra red radiation and radio frequencies. During a session of VelaShape, our cosmetic professional applies a handpiece with rollers and vacuum suction to the problem areas. The heat loosens the septae and shrinks the fat cells. The toxins drain into the lymphatic system and are removed from the body. VelaShape also tightens and smoothes the skin.
VelaShape takes about 40 minutes and is an outpatient procedure, which means that the patient can go home soon after it’s done.
